About Melissa R. Hibbert
     Jamaican born Beauty Expert, Melissa Hibbért’s love affair with all things Glam started at an early age. While in her teens, Melissa began experimenting with makeup on her friends and family and decided to take Cosmetology courses while completing High School in her adopted hometown of Portland, OR.

     Determined to achieve a higher level of education, Melissa attended the illustrious Fisk University in Nashville, TN, where she obtained a Bachelors degree in Political Science and Public Administration, she later went on to graduate school earning a Masters degree in Media Management.  Armed with a quality education, Melissa embarked on a successful career in Corporate Marketing for over 14 years working for and with some of the leading brands in the industry such as; Nike Inc., Jordan Brand Division, BET Networks, UniWorld Group Inc., Los Angeles Times Media Group, Burger King Corporation, Ford Motors Co., Coca Cola to name a few. But the pull of her first love proved too strong, so she decided to shift her career path and began a journey to reinvent herself - to follow her true passion: Beauty. To make her new career focus official, Melissa trained intensively under some the top Celebrity Makeup Artists in the industry. 

     Through hard work and dedication to hone her craft, she is now a "go-to" Beauty Expert and Professional Makeup Artist for both celebrity, corporate and private clients alike. Her passion for flawless beauty and to make every woman feel glamorous, along with her contagious enthusiasm, positive attitude and grace - helped her to become one of the industry’s most dynamic and in-demand talents.  The face is her canvas and Melissa believes every woman deserves to look as confident, powerful and gorgeous on the outside as they feel on the inside. Melissa is squarely focused on empowering women to celebrate their uniqueness and individual beauty. Her aesthetic is to focus on "total beauty" by incorporating Makeup, Hair and Wardrobe Styling in her business strategy as a beauty professional.       

     Melissa is a frequent guest Beauty Expert on The Real daytime talk show on Fox and her work can be seen on BRAVO TV, Oxygen Network, Lifetime Network, WeTV, TV ONE, VH1, BET, CBS, CENTRIC TV and a variety of syndicated networks.  In addition Melissa's work has been featured in leading Beauty Industry publications, including several digital platforms like Brides Magazine, Essence Magazine, Brides.com, BET.com, Essence.comEhow.com, YouTube and more.  Furthermore, her work has been published on the cover and in the pages of several beauty & lifestyle magazines and is a frequent contributor to leading Beauty and Lifestyle blogs such as "In Her Shoes", "She Runs It", Small Business Trend Setter Magazine, Mogul in the Making and is a frequent contributor to the Beauty column of Sophisticates Black Hair Magazine.  In March 2015, the prestigious Black Enterprise Magazine ran two stories featuring Melissa with interview discussing her leap of Faith from Corporate America to Entrepreneurship and Empowering Women Through Beauty.
  
     In addition to being a dynamic, professional Makeup Artist, Melissa is the creator and Executive Producer of Behind The Glam docu-series, also the Founder of Beauty and the Business Empowerment Conference and SHEEQ Cosmetics, a Luxury Makeup and Skincare brand for the Discerning Woman.  In Spring 2015, Melissa embarked on a defining new venture, The GLAM Agency, the premier multicultural talent management firm representing leading Makeup Artists, Hair Stylists, Fashion Stylists, Manicurists, Beauty Bloggers & Lifestyle Experts.Her aim and focus are clear - to leave a legacy of service, empowering through Beauty.

     Melissa serves on the Board of Directors for The Art of Tru Light Inc., a non-profit organization that serves to make a difference in the lives of today's youth and a proud member of NAWBO, National Association of Women Business Owners.
